Since 1906 Wein's Men's Store has been serving the needs of the well dressed gentleman not only in and about Butte Montana, but literally the rest of the world.
In 1906, when copper prices skyrocketed, the store was established to meet the soaring demand for quality apparel in the booming city of Butte, Montana. Butte was a thriving industrial city where dapper millionaires mingled on bustling Park Street with off-shift copper miners who were "dressed to the nines" and more than not bought their clothing and accessories from Wein's.
Our present owner, Joel Broudy, has roots in the store that go back three generations. In 1920, Joel's maternal grandfather Gus Weinstock with three other partners bought the store from John Wein. Gus guided the store's success through the 30's, 40's and mid 50's along with Joel's great aunt Irene Weissberg and great uncle Ben Myers.
Joel's uncle Charles Weinstock joined the store after World War II but when Chuck passed away in 1954, Joel's mother and father Bertha and Leo Broudy moved from San Francisco to help manage the store.
Joel's brother David joined the store in the mid-1960's and, after his death in 1971, Joel took over the day-to-day management of the store. With the help of his wife, Sheri Morin Broudy, Joel has managed Wein's ever since.
Our original location, 33-35-37 East Park Street, was lost to the Medical Arts fire on July 28, 1973. Wein's reopened on December 3 of that same year at 37 West Park Street. We remained at that address until November 2010, when Wein's Men's Store moved across the street to our present location at 66 West Park Street, in the Phoenix Building in the center of Butte, Montana's Historic Uptown District.
